This was a great moment for the prolific All-Star forward Tamika Catchings. She has won an NCAA championship at the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!) in 1998 and three Olympic Gold medals (2004, 2008, 2012); Catchings has a chance to win a WNBA championship before in 2009 when the Indiana Fever led the Phoenix Mercury 2-1 in a best-of-five series, but the Mercury came back to win the title.
On Sunday, Catchings scored 25 points to help the Fever bring the trophy to Indiana for the first time with an 87-78 victory over the Minnesota Lynx in Game 4. Tamika Catching averaged 22.3 points in the series with her college coach Pat Summit in the stands.
