I was wondering when he was going to start scratching.
Bill Cowher told Newsday he probably will return to the sideline at some point.
The 55-year-old Cowher coached the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1992-2006, winning a Super Bowl after the 2005 season. He is now a TV analyst for CBS.
He tells the newspaper on Tuesday the challenge of returning to coaching after a long layoff is motivation for him to come back. But he says hasn’t been contacted by any of the five NFL teams hunting for a new head coach, and he isn’t tempted by any of those opportunities either.
Cowher’s career coaching record is 149-90-1. The Steelers went 8-8 in his final season.
Right now, Bill is in the perfect spot. He does well as an NFL analyst on CBS and he can sit back and wait for the perfect job for him. Wish he could come out now and jump on the Chicago Bears head coaching vacancy…hint-hint.
