Hall of Famer and Lakers legend is Magic Johnson says Friday during ESPN’s pregame show that he will put up $1 million if Miami Heat’s Lebron James finally enters the marquee event of All-Star Saturday night.
James never been in the most popular contest during All-Star Weekend and has always refused to enter it, but he’s recently been putting on a dunking show before Miami’s games and has given us glimpses of what we’ve been missing as he’s avoided the dunk contest; critics were made to wonder what’s the problem with competing in the annual contest, reigniting interest in seeing him take part. The warm-up jams understandably led to calls for James to finally enter the popular contest, causing him to threaten nixing the warm-up routine altogether.
”Please LeBron, get in the dunk contest. I’m going to put up a million dollars. A million dollars to LeBron. Please get in the dunk contest. I go every year. I want to see you out there. A million to the winner.”
The NBA currently pays $100,000 to the winner and $50,000 to the runner-up.
