The network CBS announced Wednesday that they won the bid to show a package of Thursday night NFL games in 2014. The NFL did not reveal how much the network paid for the package, but it consists of 8 Thursday night games early in the season (it will also be simulcast on NFL Network) and two late-season Saturday games; the final 8 games will solely be aired on the NFL Network up to the playoffs. It has been noted that all 16 games will be produced by CBS.
The NFL Network personalities (Kurt Warner, Warren Sapp, Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, Steve Mariucci, Rich Eisen, etc.) will do the pre-game and halftime analysis while CBS’ Jim Nantz and Phil Simms provide the commentary.
The deal is for the 2014 season with an NFL option to extend the package for the 2015 season.
