Colin Kaepernick helps Somalia relief fund top their $1M goal 22 hours after voicing support

New things continue to develop in the life of Colin KaepernickHe hired new agents and they told the San Francisco 49ers that their client will be opting out of his contract and become a free agent.  ESPN also reported that the quarterback will stand for the national anthem in 2017.

No matter how you feel about Kaepernick’s recent change of heart with the National Anthem protest (I’ve heard people call him a fraud, but I still respect him “kneeling down” for what he believes in) you have to admire his passion for the different social injustices he’s fighting for and the commitment he has to bring these issues to the forefront and making the general public aware.

Less than 22 hours after Kaepernick threw his support behind the “Love Army For SomaliaGoFundMe page, the online charity surpassed its goal of raising $1 million to help send food and water to Somalia.

Kaepernick posted a video to his social media accounts Friday to announce that he had joined the cause that features actor Ben Stiller, along with the American Refugee Committee, and that they had secured a donated airplane from Turkish Airlines in order to fly supplies to Somalia.
